Armen Voskeridjian, M.D., is the Director of Anesthesia Services for The Jefferson Surgery Center at The Navy Yard. Dr. Voskeridjian grew up in Queens, New York City. He graduated from The Bronx High School of Science and attended New York University where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry.

After receiving his Medical Doctorate from The State University of New York - Brooklyn, he completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Voskeridjian completed his Anesthesia residency at New York Presbyterian Hospitals and is also Board Certified in Anesthesiology. He continued working and teaching residents at NY Presbyterian Hospital as an Associate Professor in Anesthesiology.

After a brief time in private practice, Dr. Voskeridjian moved to Philadelphia to be closer to his family and was an Attending Anesthesiologist at Albert Einstein Medical Center for 12 years, teaching and supervising Certified and Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists, as well as being an Associate of Clinical Operations. It was during this time that Dr. Voskeridjian began training in Ultrasound Guided Regional Anesthesia.

Switching gears from a high volume, high acuity Level I Trauma center in North Philadelphia, Dr. Voskeridjian began working for United Anesthesia Services in 2014, where he has been an Attending Anesthesiologist since.

As the Director of Anesthesia Services from January 2020, Dr. Voskeridjian has been integral in creating a "Minimal to No Opioid" environment at The Navy Yard. Combined with research and ingenuity, he is bringing the goal of narcotic free orthopedic surgery closer to a reality. He is achieving this goal with outpatient shoulder, clavicle, humerus, elbow, ACL, knee, and foot/ankle surgery.

Using ultrasound guided regional anesthesia with medications administered in the nerve blocks, Dr. Voskeridjian is able to get up to 7 days of pain control with minimal to no narcotic use. These results are currently being studied in clinical trials so that they may be shared with other surgery centers around the United States and the world.

Dr. Voskeridjian works closely with high qualified CRNAs. Together our anesthesia group is able to provide a safe, comforting, and enviable anesthesia experience for all our patients.
